Operated by Seastreak, the Providence–Newport Ferry runs seasonally from June 12 through October 12, 2026, with service between Providence, Bristol, and Newport. The scenic one-hour journey offers stunning views of Rhode Island’s coastline, passes beneath the iconic Newport Pell Bridge, and delivers passengers right into the heart of downtown Newport.
Bristol stops are available on weekends and select holidays throughout the season.
Providence Ferry Terminal
Parking at the Providence ferry terminal is complimentary and available on-site. A free shuttle bus also operates between the ferry terminal, downtown Providence, the Rhode Island Convention Center, and Providence Station.
The Christopher Dodge House is conveniently located just a half-mile walk from Providence Station, making it easy to arrive by train and continue your journey to Newport by ferry.
